At my desk at 7 3/4 – breakfast at 9 40/60 and dressed – then read Ode 1 Libro iii Horace  in Smart’s little Horace with translation that I brought from England –

At my desk again at ­­­11 and from then to 12 5/60 and in the almost  2 hours before breakfast

wrote out all but the first 10 lines of yesterday and the whole of today – then 1/4 hour’s nap in my chair –

Then prayers and Sermon 10 bishop Sandford from 12 20/60 to 1 25/60 –

came to my room at 1 3/4 – Rrom then to 5 3/4 dressed.  Dinner at 6, and afterwards from

8 1/2 to 9 1/4 at my accounts – not settled for the last fortnight – odd I have no letter from Mr. Briggs –

Coffee at 9 1/4 –

Came to my room at 10 20/60 –

Fine morning – Heavyish rain between 3 and 4 p.m. and light shower afterwards –

Read over again ode as above (line 1) Horace and skimmed here and there –
