8 3/4, letter from M- [Mariana] of several dates from 15 September to 16th
instante mense, from Lawton, York, Lawton, and Leamington –
Breakfast
at 8 55/.. in 1/2 hour –
Out
at 9 35/.. – Walked as on Tuesday –
Back
at 12 20/.. – Note from Countess de Blucher to ask if I would go to the play,
and beg an answer before one – Dressed in a hurry – Had the carriage, and at
Countess B-’s at one – Out – Returned – expecting her chez moi – No! Eugénie had not well delivered Miss
Ferrall’s message, who had called while I was out –
Read
the Hamburg Reporter and had a little nap over it –
Out
again in the carriage at 2 1/4 – Sat a little while with Lady Harriet and M.
de Hagemann – Drove her along the Long Line, and got out and walked there –
Set her down at home, and back at 4 –
Dinner
at 4 1/2 – Before and after, dressed, and at Countess de Blucher’s at 5 40/.. –
Off
immediately to the theater – Got front places in our box – Pretty pièce – Well
enough amused – Theater very full again and hot –
Over
at 9 5/.. Went to Countess de B-’s – Tea – Agreeable chit chat –
Home
at 10 1/2 – Trying on shoes and stockings for the Queen’s birth night –
Wrote
out visiting list, and the above journal of today –
Very
fine day – F 61° now at 12 1/4 tonight --
