12 1/2

F 54 1/2 at 8 a.m., rainy morning – Breakfast at 9 1/2 – At German –

At 11 40/.., in about 40 minutes, read the morning service to Eugénie and Thomas –

About (before) one, Miss Ferrall called and staid till 2 20/.. She did me good. Advised my going to the birthday, to go with her and her sister –

At German till 5 1/2 – Dinner at 5 40/..

At 7 little pencil note from Comtesse Blucher to say she and her sister were quite alone this evening and to ask me to tea – Wrote back to say should have been delighted to drink tea with her but, as I told her sister this morning, had excused myself dining with Lady Harriet on the plea of having a spell at German with Christiani, whom I was this moment expecting – Hoped to be more fortunate another time – Might perhaps see her for a minute or 2 after her Sweet Sounds  tomorrow – ‘Very truly yours, A Lister’ – to ‘the Countess Blucher’ –

M. Christiani from 7 1/2 to 9 5/.. 13th Lesson.  Asked him to send me somebody to speak German to me so that I might be more advanced by the 29th when he is to begin to give me 3 lessons a week regularly – At German again.  Came to my room at 10 1/2 –

F 56° at 11 p.m. and 55° at the same hour on the marble slab in my bedroom and 54 1/2° on the same at 12 1/2 tonight – Cleared up between 11 and 12 this morning and afterwards very fine day and evening --
