12 50/..

Very fine morning. F 63° at 9 1/2 a.m.

Breakfast at 10 in 25 minutes –

Read the service at 11 1/4 in 35 minutes – Before and after, at German and French, but before had had note from Lady H. de H- [Harriet de Hagemann] to ask me to go to Fredericksdahl on 2 hours drive – To be at the de H-s’ at 12 3/4 – and drive there at 6 –

Thought it best to go, so wrote back by the servant my  thanks etc. etc. and then wrote note to ‘Monsieur Monsieur Christiani to say very sorry, prevented taking a lesson today by unexpectedly going to spend the day in the country – In spite of my note, he, Christiani, came a little before 12 and staid talking near 1/2 hour – I must pay him as if I had had a lesson – Will not engage to have him on a Sunday any more –

Changed my dress – at the de H-s’ at 12 55/.. – They, the children, and I off at 1 1/4 – At where we alighted in 1 1/2 hour – Walked along the fine beech-wood with pine views of the 2 lakes, close past Mr. Brun’s house, and to Fredericksdahl, and along the head and other side of the (Mr. Brun’s) . . . .lake.  Looked over good house to be had furnished for 300 dalers (1 daler = about 1/3d English) per annum.

Home in 1 1/2 hour at 6 20/.. – Eugénie there to do my hair – Dinner at 6 35/.. in an hour – Coffee – Tea – Wonderful! No company – Agreeable evening.

Home at 10 40/.. – Looking over week’s account etc. till 11 3/4 –

Very fine day tho’ rather windy (northEast) – F 63° now at 11 3/4 p.m. – Passed one lake this morning in the carriage – the beech-wooded undulating ground and country houses scene and villages form a very pretty scenery --
