Fine morning. F 61 12° at 8 1/4 –
Out
at 8 1/4 by the Frederick’s Canal across the wooden bridge to Saint Saviour’s Church
and beyond along the water as far as I could go –
Back
at 10 – Breakfast – Read the Hamburg Reporter of 20th instante mense
Had
Mr. Christiani about 12 for about an hour – To come tomorrow at 9
3/4 to 10 to begin my course of lessons – Did not ask his price – Would send
a man to give lesson at 3 marks to Thomas –
Changed
my dress – At the de Hagemanns’ at 1 55/.. – They took Miss Ferrall and
myself to the wood adjoining to the great Park – An hour’s pretty walk
in the former, and just peeped into the latter – Good old oak and beech timbers
in both –
Back
at 5 25/.. – Dinner at 5 50/.. – Coffee – Madame ---- who lives opposite to
the Blucher’s, and 2 gentlemen in the course of the evening – The Danish
minister just returned from Lisbon, and the ditto minister returned from Rio
Janiero – Miss Ferrall dined with us, and Comtesse Blucher came in the evening
– Tea at 9 handed – Wine and water on the table, as usual, nobody took any, between
10 and 11 – Agreeable evening –

at 11 1/2 – Very fine day – F 64° now at 12 tonight -- Sat up reading the Copenhagen Guidebook
that Mr. Christiani had [left], with Kotzebue’s memoirs, while I was
out --
