Very fine morning. F
62° at 8 1/2 a.m. at German – Breakfast at 10 50/.. in 40 minutes. Finished
dressing.
Out
at 11 55/.. for 3/4 hour – to desire my cards to be Mrs. Lister instead of Madame,
and sauntered about – Very fine, hot, sunny day –
Monsieur
Christiani from 1 to 2, Lesson 7 meant to have given me till 3, but Compte
and Comtesse Blucher called and staid 3/4 hour – he a very handsome
young-looking man, and gentlemanly – Will be glad to see me any evening but
tonight –

2 3/4 to 5 10/.. (had a little nap, the sun so hot) at German – Translated into
English little letter I had written in German this morning for Mr. Christiani’s
dictating (1st time) and turned into German the 3 or 4 lines he had given me in
literal verbatim English 1st time – and then 1st time also wrote
out a translation from Kotzebue without having 1st read the German with M. Christiani.

at 5 20/.. for 40 minutes thro’ the Amager gate –

at 6 20/.. in an hour –
I
am very comfortable here, and like Copenhagen –
All the evening till 10 25/.. at German translating – I have still almost every word to look for, but yet I feel that I improve –
