Rainy
morning at 8, but merely small rain and damp at 9 5/.., at which hour, F 52
1/2° – Breakfast at 9 10/..in 1/2 hour –
Then
at the Cascade bridge till the men went to dinner at 12 1/4 – Then looking at
and studying over what was done – Then 1/2 hour with Ann till 1 1/2 – Then at
the Cascade bridge again till 6 35/.. –
Robert
Mann and his 3 men throwing the new cast clay off the embankment ready for burr
walling and Frank and Mark Hepworth sodding and helping the Northgate carts to
team out the stuff – soil till a few cart-loads of yellow sand at the last shot
in near the present entrance gate –
A
gap made this afternoon by Mawson’s 2 men who are to finish walling the farm yard
– The 3rd, Jacob is off – tired I suppose or gone to a better job –
Nobody
at the farm yard today –
Dressed
– Dinner at 7 –
Ann
went to Halifax shopping and called at Heath on Mrs. Fenton, and then went to
Cliff hill and got back at 6 –
Coffee
– 1/2 hour with Marian, my father just gone to bed – 1/4 hour with my aunt till
10 –
Rainy
morning till about 11. Afterwards fair
and finish day. F 51 1/2° at 10 25/..
