at 8 – To the bois de Boulogne – Walked just 2 hours from porte Maillot to
porte de Neuilly, by Bagettelle to Longchamps, thence down to the river – then
by the rue de l’Esperance to Boulogne, and Allée de Bourbon and rue de Madame
to La Muette,
and
home at 10 3/4 –
Breakfast
over at 11 1/2 – Nodding over Volume 2, Haüy’s Physics, article lumière – Dressed
– From 12 20/.. to 1 10/.., read the morning service and Sermon 3 Bishop Ogden –
Came
to my room at 1 1/4 –
The
porter at Bagatelle told me to apply to M. le baron de Damas for permission to
see the place, generally shewn on Wednesdays, but might give me another day –
Wrote
these 5 lines and then asleep till two.
This sleepiness is terrible – Reading and nodding over Haüy again till 3
50/.., when M. Audoin called and staid till 5 – To go to his house at 1 1/2 on
Tuesday to settle about some things for my little apartment and to see a
butterfly dissected –
At
5 10/.., my aunt and drove to Madame Galvani’s (I wanted to write to the baron
de Damas about seeing Bagatelle) – She was gone out – Returned, and got back at
5 3/4 –
Dressed
– Dinner at 6 10/..Read the paper – a great deal aloud – Came to my room at 8
20/.. –

Audoin recommends me to get Gravure du Système Nerveux de M. Maennec –
Again
reading and nodding over Haüy – What means the constant drowsiness? My cold is
better, my sore throat almost gone –
Coffee
at 9 20/.. Came to my room at at 10 35/.., at which hour, Fahrenheit 51 1/2° –
Fine day – from 10 3/4 to 11 50/.., reading from page 163 to 195, Volume 1,
