Bowels, I hope, getting right.

Fahrenheit 41° at 8 1/4 ° a.m.  Stood reading last number of La mode – then at my desk at 8 1/4 – then an hour reading and nodding over Cloquet volume 2 (péricarde, cous) –

Breakfast at 9 25/.. to 11 1/4, for M. Julliart came at 9 1/2 and sat till after 11, to say he could get nothing this morning so I have had no lesson – Talked to him about the expediency of having a room somewhere near the Jardin des Plantes for my anatomical and other studies purposes –should have 2 pièces, one for a servant –

From 11 1/2 to 6 (dinner at 6 10/.. read all the paper but the debates and came to my room at 7 35/60) and from 7 40/.. to 9 1/4 (coffee at 9 1/4 and came to my room at 10 1/4) and from 10 1/4 to 12 at my accounts, at foreign cash book for this year and last – re-adding up and looking over all my accounts of last year, and made up traveling Daybook from Sunday 18 October, page 162, to my return home Sunday 25 October, bottom of page 169 – The great deficit on the per contra (credit) side foreign cash book is nearly, I hope, set straight by finding out that I had omitted the expenses on account of my aunt –

Very fine day – but I had no time to go out – My accounts must somehow or other give me less trouble in future – I must take care to be less behindhand – It is this that eventually gives me all the trouble –

Mentioned to my aunt after dinner the thought of a room near the Jardin des Plantes –

Fahrenheit 41° now at 12 1/4 tonight --
