Breakfast over at 10 55/.. –
At church at 11 5/.. Just after the 1st 2 or 3 prayers – Mr. Camidge preached
26 minutes from Genesis X 4 IX.18 –
Drove from church to chez Madame
Ocouloff, and 50 minutes there till 1 55/.. – Very civil – To come to us at 1
tomorrow –
Home from Madame Ocouloff’s
and found very civil note from Madame Apraxin, asking if our plans were
fixed and if she should send the letter for the governor of Tiflis – Just read
it and dressed.
To our boulevard – Ann and I
walked 1 5/.. hour (3 turns). Réaumur -3
1/2° in the snow –
Madame Ocouloff had asked us
to go in the evening – The children to perform again as before and the governor
of Astrakan’s lady to be there – Once thought of going there for an hour or 2,
and then to Princess Olga Dolgorouky, but somehow all this fell through, and we
spent the evening at home –
Wrote and sent by George at 5
50/.. civil note in answer to ‘Madame Madame Apraxin’ –
Dinner over at 6 55/.. – We
walked about the salon a little – Tea at 8 – Before and after till now 12 3/4,
wrote out Friday and to the end of the last page (of yesterday).
Fine day – Réaumur 13° on my
table and 12 ° on the console now at 12 3/4 tonight –
