Mr. Sunderland called between 1 and 2.  Found my aunt as usual ‘nothing adverse’ – Vide bottom of last page

No kiss.  Breakfast at 9 5/.. – Mrs. Ann Lee and her assistant came to finish our bed drapery inside and window curtains etc. –

Sent John with the cart to Greenwoods for the bookcase –

Dawdling about 1 thing or other –

Out with Ann at 10 35/.. – We took Charles Howarth’s curtain rod to Ward, blacksmith at Lidgate, and were back about 12 – The bookcase just arrived – Sad work to get it into the blue room – Had the balustrade of the stairs above and at the bottom to take off – 4 men came with it – 2 went back for the sofa (brought by hand) –

Out from about 3 to 4 or later with Pickles draining the low land let to Carr –

The bookcase not finished setting up till after 5 –

With Ann – Dinner at 6 5/.. – Coffee – Played and lost 4 hits – Went to my aunt at 9 – Found Marian there.  We both staid talking to my aunt 3/4 hour –

Ann in bed by 9 1/2 – Sprained her back a little this afternoon – Rubbed it 1/4 hour till 10 5/.. with spirit of wine and camphor –

From 10 1/4 to 12 1/2, wrote the whole of pages 226, 7, 8, and so far of this page –

Very fine day –

Then in an hour till 1 1/2, wrote 7 pages and ends and half the 1st page crossed to Mariana (Lawton) –
