November

Wednesday 19

8 50/..

11 20/..

No kiss.

Fine but hazy morning, Fahrenheit 48° at 9 a.m.

Had Pickles and John Jagger about the hunters who were trespassing in Miss Walker’s joint property on Friday (vide Saturday last, page 207) – Ann sent note by Jagger to her tenants Moses Barker of Hunger hill and Henry Gledhill of Ing head to say she wished to speak to them and should be obliged to them to come here in the course of today, or by 11 a.m. tomorrow –

Had Mr. Hoyland – likes the sparring of the top of the blue room changed from 3inch spars with 6 inch interstices to 3 1/2 inch spars with 5 1/2 inch interstices – Tried while he was here the imitation studding 6 inch interstices and 9 inch studs – and continued the oak beam-painting all across the room over the window – Shewed Mr. Hoyland the north chamber – thinks it very pretty – and likes the blue room much better than he expected – in fact, likes it – but said it would not have suited any other room –

Waited till Ann had luncheon, and off together at 1 20/.. down the old bank to Halifax – She shopping while I went to Mr. Parker’s office and to Greenwood’s –

The letting of Mytholm farm to be Wednesday, 10 December, and answer given the Monday following

Before and after dinner, read from page 440 to 459, Bakewell’s Geology.

20 minutes with my aunt till 10 –
