June
I could possibly sleep there
tonight. The apartment was absolutely
“inhabitable” – a thousand difficulties – I was positive I said there was
nothing “impossible” and all was got over –
Returned to Ann – Did up my
things – Dinner at 7 1/2 –
Had up M. Meurice alias . . .
. . . Explained – All the parties very civil and very sorry –
Had the carriage packed and
off with and the servants (leaving Ann lying down – to go for Ann when all was
arranged) at 8 3/4 –
All ready and went back for Ann at 10 – Made her some tea in
our own little boiler – The servants had tea from the hotel very comfortably
about 10 1/2 or later – It was 11 50/.. before I left Ann –
Then had Oddy and siding
till 12 1/2 –
Damp day, rainy morning and
evening – Fine from about 4 to 7 – Afterwards rain – Fahrenheit 68° in my
bedroom at 12 1/2 tonight –
