February

Sunday 11

8 35/60

Thinking of π [Mariana].

The morning cold, frosty, and thick, that my uncle staid at home –

Walked with my aunt down the old bank.  Left her at the old church, and went forward to the new – Meant to have sat with the Saltmarshes, but Miss Tipping opened her pew-door and I consequently sat with her – Mr. Edward Shaw did the duty and preached 29 minutes from Hebrews chapter11,verse1.  Good discussion –

Called afterwards and sat 1/2 hour at the Saltmarshes’ – In my way home, turned down the Northern road past Godley, and by the brook side, and got home (in minutes) at 2 10/60 –

In the afternoon my aunt and I read the service – and I then read the first 48 pages, volume 2, Léontine de Blondheim –

In the evening, read aloud Sermon 5, Landford – on making friends of the mammon of unrighteousness –

Fine day – Barometer 1 1/4 degree below fair – Fahrenheit 35 1/2° at 9 p.m.

Came upstairs at 10 50/60 –
