September
Friday 30
Comfortable enough at the Red
Lion. Wareham a neat, pretty little town
–
Had the woman of the house to
sit with me at breakfast –
Everybody says Mr. William or
George Bankes would have come in ahead and Corfe and Dorchester against reform
– Lord Ashley well received – but all the labourers and scamps of Wareham hired
and sent off to Dorchester to make a shew of hands for Ponsonby – Many will now
be against reform that were for it – All Poole for it – because chiefly dissenters
