Down at 9 50/.. Breakfast at 10 1/2 when Lady Stuart came down
–
Talking and tidying books,
and reading observations on Green’s fumigating vapour and other baths, 40 Great
Marborough Street, London –
Drove out in the pony carriage
at 3 1/4 – Called on the Petersham Scotts, admiral now, Sir George, and Lady Stuart
saw Lord James Stuart and returned in an hour at 5 20/.. –
Dressed – Sir Henry and Miss
and young Mr. Campbell came at 7 to dinner and staid till 10 1/2 –
Vere went at 11 1/2, Lady Stuart
and I at 12 5/.. – Fine day – Fahrenheit 63° now at 12 3/4 tonight –
