Fahrenheit 61 1/2 at 9 3/4, at which hour, I down to breakfast – Fine, mild, autumnal morning – Breakfast at 10 –

At church at 10 40/.. – 26 1/2 minutes from 1 Timothy 1.15 –

Called at the door of Lord James Stuart – Home about 2 1/2 – Sauntered in the garden – Walked 1/2 hour with Vere in the park – Then about an hour after walked with, 40 minutes in ditto –

Flirting.  Evident she does not dislike that or me.  Would live with me, I think, if asked and at liberty I felt a little, and perhaps was more interested than she would have been with anybody else in petticoats.  It seems Charles Stuart was in earnest.  She says he will be glad by and by that she was not!

Dressed – Dinner at 7 – Afterwards coffee – Nobody would have tea.  Looking over prints – All came up together at 11 55/..

Very fine day – Fahrenheit 63° now at 12 3/4 tonight –
